Guiding and Scouting is a wonderful hobby where children and young people learn new things about nature, themselves, other people, and the surrounding environment. By joining the Guides and Scouts and our local group <Lippukunnan nimi>, you get to learn by doing instead of just reading about things in books. Guiding and Scouting is for everyone, and it is a hobby where everyone can truly make a difference!

Children can start Scouting at the age of seven. There is no upper age limit. Scouting takes place in local groups, one of which is our local group <lippukunnan nimi>, which freely translated into English means <Lippukunnan nimen vapaa englanninkielinen käännös>. Children meet weekly in small groups (known as patrols) with others of the same age. The patrols are usually led by one or two adult Scouts. During meetings children will play, do arts and crafts, and learn new skills. Every now and then, we also participate in larger events.
All Scouting activities are based on the Scouts’ youth programme, which consists of numerous activities tailored to different age groups. Our local group focuses on <nautical / aviation /hiking activities>.
Fill in the membership application form or contact us directly at <lippukunnan yhteystieto>. If you have any questions, we will be happy to answer them.

Scouting is one of the most affordable hobbies for children in Finland. The membership fee is <jäsenmaksun hinta> euros for the year <vuosi>. By paying the fee, you can participate in weekly meetings, hikes, camps and other Scouting events. The sum depends on our local group’s annual fee and Scout district.
Small participation fees are also collected for hikes and camps. Please note that various kind of gear are required for some events, but you can participate in weekly meetings without any special equipment.
You can start Scouting as an adult. No previous experience is needed. Our local group and the Scouts as a whole offer plenty of activities and a wide range of volunteer roles for adults.
Our local group also offers Family Scouting for children under seven and their parents. The purpose is to familiarize children with Scouting and to provide families with positive nature experiences. Family Scouting is a great hobby for the whole family and an opportunity to meet other parents regularly.
The Safely Together Guideline is intended for all Scout leaders to ensure a safe environment for the growth and development of all children and young people in Scouting. The Safely Together Training is mandatory for all Scouts over the age of 18 and for group leaders under 18. The training must be completed again every five years.
