Information about scouting and guiding

Welcome to learn more about scouting and guiding. Scouting and guiding is a diverse and fun hobby. It’s available in many communities across Finland. This event is intended for all parents of school-aged children and teenagers.
 
Children who participate in scouting and guiding make new friends and learn new skills appropriate for their age group. Adults are also welcome to join scouting and guiding. A variety of volunteer opportunities are available for adults.
 
During the evening, we will address the following questions, among others:
•    At what age can you start scouting and guiding?
•    Can you participate in scouting and guiding even if Finnish isn’t your native language?  
•    Does religion affect participation?
•    What kinds of activities are done in scouting and guiding?  
•    How much does scouting and guiding cost per year?
•    Are there any other costs besides the annual fee?
•    What are the scouting and guiding ideals?
•    How can I join scouting and guiding?
 
Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions. You’re also welcome to join just to listen.
